Julie & Greg’s Eco-Chic Vintage Storybook – Tallahassee Wedding Photography

We introduced Julie & Greg’s Eco-Chic Vintage wedding earlier this year with the unique custom invitation design we created for them as we work to design their ideal wedding from ceremony to flowers to reception and then capture it in photo and video. We shared their Editorial Photojournalistic story in Part 1 and Part 2 then followed with their Art Cinema Edit Part 1&2 and Part 3&4. When it came time to design their story book we wanted it to be an organic process that allowed us to merge their wedding day story with their love for nature and travel as well as their love for family and friends; much like we did when we work on the design for their wedding. At the end it was the vintage edge we needed to incorporate that gave us the phrase to define the design: Kurflink/Dudley Journal. That is what we set about to create. Each page layout was inspired by photos from their travels that allowed us to create perfect nooks for the shots of their wedding day we wanted to feature in each section, and then incorporate memories from family photos and friends mix with vintage design elements to give each page a sense of elegant vintage journal that fused their lives and their families’ history from early 1900 to the day of their wedding. Each page is a collage of layers that allowed our creative brain to go wild and design a storybook as unique and creative as their wedding was in real life. Enjoy!

“Modern Lounge with a Regal Edge” Wedding Style Concept

A case of old world meets new age, we have being working with Tina and Nicholas to create a style and design for their UCC wedding that finds harmony with all the sides of their personalities. The resulting theme: “Modern Lounge with a Regal Edge” is a tailored blend that focuses on turning old world traditions into elegant trends. With the style concept established we set about designing their logo, which is a modern take on a traditional “Coat of Arms” with the focus on the first letter of their future last name: Maddox, and Latin phrase that has special meaning to them: “Amor est Vitae Essentia” and translate to: “Love is the Essense of Life” and designed in their wedding colors of grape and pastel pink with a black background for a regal feel.

“Crystal Raindrops Modern Rooftop Bash” Design Concept

Keisha & LaClarence came to us with an open mind and a desire for a modern elegant wedding in the fabulous Rooftop of the Duval Hotel. They gave us open range to let our design creativity fly, and immediately our minds went to the gorgeous modern glass sculture chandeliers that accentuate the hotel décor and have an air of sophisticated clean lines, and modern luxury we knew we wanted to capture in our design. Take a look at one of them:

After turning and twisted it together in a flash: “Crystal Raindrops Modern Rooftop Bash” which merges a sophisticated modern elegance with a luxurious lounge enviroment to create one rocking party.

The first step of the design was to design their logo. The logo is B&W monogram style, so we can add color, shadows or dimention as we customize it for the different materials we are going to be printing on. We used the glass drops from the Duval as inspiration, and designed a modern logo that includes both their first letters of their names along with their future last name. We love the symbolism of the design between the “L” for LaClarence and the “K” for Keisha. The K resting on the L and surrounded and loved by it while lending one leg to support and stabilized the whole union, and both resting on the last name which they will share as man and wife. We used 3D bubbles in the design to evoke our inspiration.

The first customization of the logo came when designing their Save the Date, which we designed to be printed in Translucent Plastic. For the design we kept the lines clean and modern and then used crimson which is one of their wedding colors to outline the entire design and create a sense of 3D. The Save The Date will have the rounded corner and give the sense of a high scale modern hotel glass key that gives you access to the penthouse or skybox. Take a look at the design.

“Night in Madrid” Wedding Monogram and Save The Date Tickets

We introduced Amberleah and Joshua’s Save the Date Design to the blog a while back. We are working with them on styling and designing their dream “Night in Madrid” Wedding. As part of their stationery concept, we also designed a monogram style logo using the first letters of their names “A” and “J” along with the first letter of their last name to be “M”. We started by using a font that had flow and movement to evoke the fluid and sexy movements of a couple executing a Spanish Dance, which they are actually planning to do for their first dance. In the design, we intertwined the J on the left leg of the M and then the A comes in to complete the look by intertwining in the right leg of the M to create a suttle, elegant and even a little royal design to evoke that feeling of Spanish tradition.

Here is what the design looks like:

One of the most rewarding things for us when we working with our couples is to share in the excitement of the process of planning as we work on each of the projects. After we completed the design for the Save the Date and sent it to Amberleah, we got the sweetest email from her with a very simple phrase:

“WOW! WOW! WOW! I love you it!!!! I am sending this to Josh so he can see it but I know he will love it as much as I do. :) Yanet you and your family are magicians!!!”

It is emails like that that make our day. We are not sure if we qualify as magicians, but we are certainly passionate about what we do and if that passion and effort result in a little magic that makes our couple feel special, well then we consider that a very good day :)

We had not had a chance to update the blog, but here is what the final product for their “Night in Madrid” Save The Date Ticket Concept looks like. The ticket design we created for them was a custom size, so we created custom envelops from black metallic paper for a rich luxurious feel and then used their logo to create a paper seal that would close the envelops, much the same way it was done in the old times but with a little more modern execution :)

We are in the process of designing a sexy red hot invitation with Amberleah, so we can’t wait to share on the final design once the look is completed.
